“The man who is filled with the Holy Spirit speaks in different languages. These different languages are different ways of witnessing to Christ, such as
humility, poverty, patience, and obedience; we speak in those languages when we reveal in ourselves these virtues to others.” ~St. Anthony~

Right off the bat, I’m sure you’re wondering about St. Anthony and the American Indians in the picture to your right. No, he did not show himself to the Indians, rather it is a painting of a  Belgian missionary priest, Fr. Louis Hennepin, who in 1680, who gave the St. Anthony Falls on the Mississippi River adjacent to downtown Minneapolis. that name in honor of the devotion he had to St. Anthony of Padua. I’ve never been there myself, nor have I ever heard of Fr. Louis, but I thought it was a great picture, so there.

I am just coming around to finding out more about St. Anthony, and i personally think he’s gotten handed the short end of the stick with this “patron Saint of lost things” gig. He is so much more than that.
